About Us — Maricelle Rooms

Maricelle Rooms is a small, family-run affittacamere — a B&B, a guest house — overlooking the Gulf of Naples, a few steps from the seafront of Castellammare di Stabia. Just two rooms, Cannarassa and Lamparella, with a fresh Mediterranean feel, and two hosts, Michele and Luigi, who welcome every guest in person.

Our story

Maricelle was born from the wish to give travellers an authentic base in the heart of the Gulf, far from the anonymity of large hotels. We made two rooms in the colours of sea and sand, named after two creatures of our coast: 'a Cannarassa, the favollo crab with its powerful claws, and 'a Lamparella, the quick little shrimp, always on the move.

What makes Maricelle special is not luxury but its position and the way we make you feel at home: the station 400 metres away, the port one kilometre off, and two real people ready to point you to the right train, a trusted pizzeria or the ferry times. We are a properly registered affittacamere (CIN IT063024C22O3XTZBA, CIR 15063024EXT0366), at Corso Alcide De Gasperi 128, 80053 Castellammare di Stabia.

Your hosts

We are Michele and Luigi, the two hosts of Maricelle. We reply personally to every enquiry, greet you on arrival and stay on hand throughout your stay — from directions to Pompeii to the best sunset along the seafront. We love it when guests leave feeling a little at home in the Gulf of Naples.

We speak Italian and English.

Why Castellammare

Castellammare di Stabia is a surprisingly handy base for exploring the south. Pompeii is 8 km / 15 minutes away by Circumvesuviana, Sorrento 15 km / 25 minutes, and from the port one kilometre away seasonal ferries sail to Capri (~40 minutes) and to the Amalfi Coast. Naples is 30 km / 40 minutes by train. From here you can reach everything without a car and without stress.

And then there is the place itself: the sea, the seafront for sunset strolls, the ancient history of the Scavi di Stabia and the living history of the town. The station 400 metres away — a five-minute walk — does the rest: a strategic position that leaves you free to explore and to come home to the Gulf each evening.
