Open daily, allow 3-4 hours for a thorough visit. Reachable by Circumvesuviana train in 15 minutes.

Herculaneum (Ercolano)
15 km from Maricelle โ 15 minutes by train. Smaller but better-preserved than Pompeii, Herculaneum was an ancient seaside resort town with intact upper floors and extraordinarily preserved wooden structures. Less crowded, it is ideal for a half-day visit.
Mount Vesuvius
20 km from Maricelle. Hike to the crater rim with a 30-minute walk from the parking area. Spectacular views over the Gulf of Naples make this trip unforgettable. Best combined with a morning visit to Pompeii.
