Funivia del Monte Faito โ high above the Gulf
The Funivia del Monte Faito climbs from Castellammare di Stabia to about 1100 m in roughly 8 minutes, with open views over the Gulf of Naples. The valley station is a few minutes from Maricelle Rooms; the cable car has been open again since June 2026, with seasonal timetables to check on the official EAV website.
For our guests it is the most surprising outing within easy reach: a few minutes by cable car take you from the seafront to the beech woods of Faito, with the Gulf opening up beneath your feet. A morning up high and you are back in Castellammare for lunch โ the advantage of having the mountain and the sea in the same town.
The cable car ride and the views
Operated by EAV, the cable car links the town to Monte Faito, gaining more than a thousand metres in just a few minutes. On the way up your eye runs over the Gulf of Naples, Vesuvio and the Sorrentine peninsula; at the top, cool beech woods, trails and viewpoints await those who love to walk. It is one of the most scenic ways to take in the Gulf from above, a step from the sea.
